Jeanie Eddleman

The graphite rendered pencil drawings of Jeanie Eddleman have based her work upon historic photographs of many buildings of the southeastern Missouri area.  She draws accurate representations of each building that are skillfully rendered in detail.  Architecture and love for nostalgia has motivated this artist to develop her talent.  She hopes to include others in remembering the memories from the past and to preserve historically what has been lost.

Jeanie Eddleman is the President of the Cat Ranch Art Guild and Chairman of the Board of the Tom Runnels Memorial Scholarship Fund.  She works at promoting the Cat Ranch Art Guild artists and tourism at the Cat Ranch.  Jeanie is active in the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri and the Visual Arts Cooperative in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Delilah Tayloe, director of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, commented," Since many of the buildings are long gone, a pang of familiarity strikes when seeing them like meeting a dear old friend, long missed."

Not only does Jeanie draw historical/old buildings, but she draws portraits, flowers and animals.  Two drawings have been published.  Portrait of Tom Runnels was published in the
Blue Tick Breeders and Coon Hunters Associations 2005 Presidents annual (Blue Book), and the drawing of "Star Vue Drive-In" in the book Cape Girardeau Then & Now  by Tom Neumeyer. Jeanie's art is in collections in twenty states and five foreign countries.

In 1976, she attained a BS degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Commercial Art, Printing and Business and in 1977 certified in Art k-12 from Southeast Missouri State University.  From 1979-2004 she taught Art k-12 at Zalma R-5 Schools in Zalma, MO. She is also a member of the River Heritage Association, Mississippi River Valley Scenic Drive Committee, Marble Hill Women's club, Bollinger County Chamber of Commerce and  Missouri Retired Teachers Association.
